Port Washington Photo Outing

Here’s the intrepid group of photographers I led on a photo tour of Port Washington recently. Keeping with the nautical focus of the town, we posed at the Toledo Anchor Memorial in Union Cemetery. These folks are members of the Photo Pictorialists of Milwaukee, a camera club founded in 1904. The outing began with a […]

Milwaukee Fire Museum

The Milwaukee Fire Museum is located at 16th and Oklahoma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It resides in an authentic Milwaukee Fire Department fire station built in 1927, which remained active until 1995. Visitors can get a glimpse of what life at a fire station was like during that time. There is a nice collection of artifacts […]

Geneva Lake Museum

This week I presented my Lights of the Lakes show to 40 people at the Geneva Lake Museum in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The show was part of the museum’s “Tuesdays at Two” series. Afterwards, I toured the museum and took snapshots of a few of the exhibits. View the Geneva Lake Museum photo gallery

Antique Tractor and Equipment Show

Each summer on the third weekend in July, the Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion stages its annual show at Pioneer Village in rural Saukville, Wisconsin. The show features vintage gas- and steam-powered tractors and a variety of historic gas engines. Farm equipment such as antique sawmills, balers, and threshers is also shown and demonstrated. The […]

Glimpses of Wisconsin

Although I’m originally from Michigan and have lived in other states as well, Wisconsin has been home to me for over 30 years now. I’ve raised my family here and put down roots. And even set aside my home state sports team loyalties and become a Packers fan! I’ve enjoyed photographing many of Wisconsin’s lighthouses, […]

Aircraft Galleries

I’m fortunate to live within easy reach of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) facilities in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Every summer, EAA stages AirVenture, the “Worlds Greatest Aviation Celebration.” Known informally as the “EAA Fly-In,” this week-long convention attracts over 10,000 private, commercial, and military aircraft and over 500,000 spectators from over 60 different countries. During EAA, […]

Event Photography

My taste in outdoor events runs to historic re-enactments, tall ship visits, and many of the festivals which take place in my adopted home town of Port Washington, Wisconsin. For example, every year in “Port” we have Fish Day, the “World’s Largest One-Day Fish Fry” and the Maritime Heritage Festival. Not too far from where […]

Car Shows

As a Michigan native who grew up in the Detroit area during the Muscle Car era, I have cars in my blood. Not the wimpy imports of today, or European snobmobiles, but classic Detroit Iron like the Chevy SS396, Corvette Sting Ray, Hemi ‘Cudas, Road Runners, Goats and 442s, and original Mustangs and Cobras. Long […]

Potpourri

Pot·pour·ri – noun: a miscellaneous collection. A blend of various ingredients that work together to create an affect. In the Potpourri Galleries, you’ll find collections of images that don’t fit into other categories. An eclectic blend of images that will in turn stir your patriotic leanings if you’re a red-blooded American, make your mouth water […]
