Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion Tractor Show at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village

Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion Tractor Show at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village

Each summer on the third weekend in July, the Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion stages its annual show at Pioneer Village in rural Saukville, Wisconsin. The show features vintage gas- and steam-powered tractors and a variety of historic gas engines. Farm equipment such as antique sawmills, balers, and threshers is also shown and demonstrated. The show wraps up on Sunday afternoon with a tractor parade.

I photographed this show as a volunteer for the Ozaukee County Historical Society. Forty images from the 2014 show were added to the Wisconsin Antique Power Reunion Tractor Show gallery.

Places and Things I’ve Enjoyed Photographing in Wisconsin

Although I’m originally from Michigan and have lived in other states as well, Wisconsin has been home to me for over 30 years now. I’ve raised my family here and put down roots. And even set aside my home state sports team loyalties and become a Packers fan!

I’ve enjoyed photographing many of Wisconsin’s lighthouses, events, natural subjects, and interesting sights and places. In my Glimpses of Wisconsin galleries, I share them with you.

Featuring EAA AirVenture, the EAA Air Show, and the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, WI

I’m fortunate to live within easy reach of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) facilities in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Every summer, EAA stages AirVenture, the “Worlds Greatest Aviation Celebration.” Known informally as the “EAA Fly-In,” this week-long convention attracts over 10,000 private, commercial, and military aircraft and over 500,000 spectators from over 60 different countries. During EAA, Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh becomes the world’s busiest airport for one hectic week.

A major EAA  highlight is the daily EAA Air Show. The Air Show features formation and stunt flying, military aircraft and battle simulations, and much more.

For the other 51 weeks of the year, attention shifts to the EAA AirVenture Museum adjoining the airfield.

In the Aircraft Galleries, you can experience this spectacular event.

Event Photography

Fairs, Festivals, Parades, Shows, Military Re-enactments, and Much More

Fairs, Festivals, Parades, Shows, Military Re-enactments, and Much More

My taste in outdoor events runs to historic re-enactments, tall ship visits, and many of the festivals which take place in my adopted home town of Port Washington, Wisconsin. For example, every year in “Port” we have Fish Day, the “World’s Largest One-Day Fish Fry” and the Maritime Heritage Festival.

Not too far from where I live is Pioneer Village, which has its own slate of festivals every year.

And sitting atop the food chain in this area is Milwaukee, which every year offers a series of major festivals.

All of these events offer great photo opportunities, and over the years I visited many of them with my camera. Visit my Event Galleries and take a look!
